A career in consulting is like an adventure. Mine was filled with so much they can't be summed up into a list. If I have to pick the top three, they are learning & thriving, clients' happiness & challenges, and travels & teamwork.
Elevated by a Design Thinking mindset, I led client teams through different stages of their digital transformation.
Together, we defined Change Management strategies and plans to enforce the desired culture, values, and behaviours. We used human-centered framework to immerse stakeholders into personalized journey maps that matched their personas.
We mapped out the Change Impact Analysis to ensure all the changes are captured, communicated and trained to the targeted groups. We collaborated with business functional team to deliver Process Blueprint workshops. This part has gained me not only priceless industry knowledge but also planted the seeds of process design.
We developed, implemented, and managed strategic communication activities in various media to address different stakeholder needs throughout the change. The work here that I'm really proud of is my creative and visually appealing communications. Engagement was increased by at least 50%.
We designed the learning experience and developed the materials for different platforms to create a seamless training for learners of all levels. We built the Training Assessment tools to measure our own success, drawbacks, and engagement effectiveness. We grounded our activities in alignment with individual and business goals. I also learned to incorporate data analytics into change readiness assessment.
Inspired by my work and creativity, I was asked to deliver a Change Management workshop and a Design Thinking mini-class to our internal resources. I was so happy and honored to share my profound interest in human-centred design with my co-workers.
To satisfy my curiosity about what data can do in our world, I combined human-centred storytelling with data analysis and visualization to support decision making, reporting and employee experience in following areas: (1) predict communication, talent management and performance management trends; (2) assess performance management, (3) analyse root-cause problems of change resistance, employee engagement, and define areas of improvement.
With expertise in Human Capital Management, I worked with clients to assess the maturity levels of organizations and HR departments. We defined development strategy & plan to align HR activities with business vision, goals and objectives.
We designed target HR operating models based on HR Standard Operations Procedures (SOP), requirements from localisation workshops and process design workshops.
Two years I spent working and living overseas was priceless and memorable. The great people, events and memories I encountered have grown me into a seasoned, inspiring and proactive professional I always dreamt of being. I hold this phase of my career near and dear to my heart.

Although moving from an academic background to management consulting was a steep learning curve, it was the time I learned and grew my career tremendously. Lessons after lessons, it had developed the skills and expertise I need to lead clients through different projects.
Leading full-scope change management activities for a technology adoption project was one of my noteable assignments.
I planned out project branding, communications and campaigns to gain stakeholder awareness. My creativity shined through communication materials and caught everyone's attention. The highlight of my work is project weekly status newsletters. Crafted in the form of a comic series, with unique and relatable characters, it became the talk of the town. Stakeholders engaged in them as a way to keep their eyes on the project status.
I also managed end-to-end training activities for technical end users. With deep thoughts about business pain points, the growth vision and users' stories, I set myself out on a quest to make learning more engaging for my users. Wanting to design a learning experience that faciliates and empowers the change journey, I collaborated with a multi-disciplinary team to identify training needs, prototyped and iterated learning methods for various platforms. I built a Gamification E-learning prototype for ERP SAP training based on behavioural research results.
Fascinated by my creative flair and a human-centered mindset, I was asked to deliver a Creative Communications training session to internal resources in the whole region. It was such a great opportunity to share the work and exchange knowledge with like-minded colleagues.
On a different project, I analyzed marketing data, consumer insights and reports to support the decision-making process. We conducted an intensive and extensive market research to define market-entry strategies. Through that, I learned the powerful role of storytelling in data analytics and visualization.
Other firm activities I took part in also shaped and sharpened my skillsets. I was proud to support the Deloitte Human Capital Trends 2015, the well-researched and well-acclaimed annual report series. I also developed proposals and training activities for SAP SuccessFactors; developed Strategic Workforce Planning proposal and labour market analysis focusing on salary trends; and designed a core professional and leadership competency framework by job families and level of employees.
My first year in consulting was blooming with lessons, memories and new opportunities. It was a very exciting time that became even more promising when I got promoted and transferred overseas. Taking my first step into the corporate world is one of the best decisions in my life. I am thankful for all the support from my greatest mentors, co-workers and clients. They shape me professionally.

Assistant Lecturer
University of Social Sciences & Humanities
Oct 2011 - Apr 2014

My part-time job at the university laid the groundwork and ignited my ever-evolving interest in human-centered methods. I led class discussions, instructed students with their research papers and ran office hours to support their studies in Pop Culture. I always found myself at awe with how people from different cultures interact with themselves, other humans and their surroundings. Socio-cultural anthropology has been my focal point since university.
Besides, teaching English Language classes gave me the opportunity to be creative and resourceful with the curriculum. My students back then were my first and dedicated objects for my studies of human-centred design. Observing them, empathizing with them and talking to them fueled me to keep on creating the curriculum that meet their needs and facilitate their learnings. Helping students to reach their full potential and seeing the happiness in their eyes were my rewards.
